About the Event
Tonight's meeting will be run by Ladies Who Lobby who have booked a speaker to support one of our National campaigns on Modern Slavery.
Theresa Breen is a retired senior police officer who worked as a Detective for 28 out of 30 years of her career in roles including the Murder Squad, Drug Squad, Paedophile Squad, in Child Abuse Investigation, Serious and Organised Crime roles in London and Nationally, and for four years in Counter Terrorism. As a Commander, she led the transformation of CT policing in the UK.
She was the senior police officer who led the national implementation of the Operational Improvement Review following the 2017/18 terror attacks in the UK. She has experienced the impact and consequences of crime on vulnerable victims and is a passionate advocate for communities being the eyes and ears of the police.
With experience across local, regional, national and European law enforcement, she will discuss the impact of modern
slavery
on victims and the challenges for law enforcement for the identification and conviction of those who perpetrate the crime.
