Walking Group - September

Please RSVP for the walk. 

We will be meeting at Kennington underground station at 11am (until approx 1pm) for a guided walk in Lambeth. 

We have provisionally booked a walking tour with an official guide around the green spaces and parks within the urban area of Lambeth. Our guide, Peter, will talk about the history and heritage of each of these gardens and the walk will finish at Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens where we can have a picnic lunch and return home via Vauxhall Station.

If you are a regular member of walking group, please feel free to sign up for this walking tour. Peter is charging £60 for 10 attendees ( which will be partly funded by £50 group allowance) and the difference split between those attending. 

As usual, please wear suitable footwear for walking on paths (and possibly grass) and bring waterproofs/ suncream accordingly. Please also bring water and packed lunch, although no doubt takeaway food will be available to buy after the walk.  Hope to see you there.

Subject Specific Heath & Safety

Members gathering for a physical event e.g. walking group are advised to stay hydrated and bring their own bottle of water/drink, which should not be shared with others.

Please wear suitable footware for your walk.

COVID specific reminders

While MOST COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted, we will still be taking precautions to reduce the risk of transmission during physical events:

· If you are symptomatic of COVID-19, please do not attend any physical event. If you test positive you must inform the Secretary or President.

· Members who are clinically at high-risk are advised to decide carefully whether attending face-to-face is a safe option for them in the chosen venue and situation.

· Members are encouraged to continue to wear masks when attending the meeting if they wish to do so, but this is not obligatory (unless specified by the venue). Please respect the choices made by the attendees in this regard.

· All members attending are advised to bring hand-sanitiser with them and to use it at regular intervals during the event.

· Members are advised to bring their own packet of appropriate wipes to wipe surfaces in venue toilets.

· Please note that the names and contact details of all attendees will be recorded to ensure that in the event we are notified of a positive Covid-19 test either from a Member or the Venue we will notify all of the attendees.
