About the Event

Join us for a walk round Boxhill!

We have decided to follow the National Trust's 'Happy Valley' walk, starting from the cafe at the top car park at 11.30 am. This walk should take approximately 1 1/2 hours including a toilet stop/ drink at the Smith & Western pub on the way round. There are some inclines and about 50 steps going down, so you may wish to bring walking poles (optional).

It is a woodland walk but also includes some viewing points. This walk should be accessible to all of our group.

For those who wish to extend the walk and are able to manage more uphill walking, we shall be starting the walk at 10.30 am from the lower car park (Ryka's cafe, near Burford Bridge Hotel). Toilets are available in the car park. We will walk up to the cafe from here and enjoy more views of the surrounding area, meeting the others at 11.30 am. This should also allow time for coffee/ toilet stop.

Please bring sturdy walking boots, (it may be muddy), waterproofs, drinks and snacks. The NT cafe also offers gluten free/ v and vg options of cakes and pastries, open weekdays 1000-1600 and there are toilets at the Visitors Centre.

The Old Fort, Box Hill Road, Tadworth, Surrey, KT20 7LB

Please let me know which option you decide via Whatsapp or via the website, either 10.30 am (lower) or 11.30 am (upper car park). In the event of bad weather please check the website as we may need to just do a shorter walk at the top or cancel if conditions dictate.

Subject Specific Heath & Safety

Members gathering for a physical event e.g. walking group are advised to stay hydrated and bring their own bottle of water/drink, which should not be shared with others.
