Deepdene Garden Trail (7 miles approx) 

Please join us on a varied circular country walk with historical interest. The walk is mainly flat but there are some uphill and downhill slopes and steps. There are also several stiles! The walk is mainly dry but there is a chance of mud in places.

Starting from the car park at Dorking Halls (toilets/café) at 11.a.m, we have a 10 minute uphill stroll to the start of the Deepdene Garden Trail. We discover lost historic gardens with some sweeping views at Deepdene Terrace. We then continue the trail, through quiet private roads and paths, joining part of the Greensand Way to Brockham Village. (There are several stiles on this stretch). Here we'll stop for coffee (+cake/ lunch) and toilets at the Village Hall café.

If you want to finish the walk here there's a 32 bus back to Dorking Halls/ Dorking station.

Otherwise, we continue the walk towards Betchworth Castle ruins then across country via Betchworth Golf Club back towards Deepdene Terrace, past the gardens and returning downhill to Dorking Halls. It is an interesting and varied walk.
