Walking group - July

Our circular walk will commence at Shere Village Hall CP at 11am.

We will walk along the North Downs towards Newlands Corner where we will stop for a comfort break and refreshments.

From there we will continue to St Martha’s Hill where we will stop for a picnic lunch and admire the outstanding views. We will then drop down passing the old Gunpowder mills which stopped production in the 1920’s.

From here we will make our way up into Blackheath and navigate our way back via numerous footpaths to Shere via Farley Green.

Estimate walk length 8-9 miles

Estimated time 3-4 hours.

Picnic lunch recommended and please note there is only one comfort stop at Newlands Corner.

We suggest that your wear strong boots and bring poles if you usually use them as well as suitable clothing for the weather conditions.

This walk may be more challenging than previous walks as it does involve some hills.
