ARCHAEOLOGY AND CRIME ARE A WINNER FOR ELLIE
CRIME novelist Elly Griffiths is the speaker at our literary lunch at Guildford Golf Club on Friday, 8 November.
Born in London, she read English at King's College, London, and worked in publishing for many years before becoming a full-time author.
Her bestselling series of Dr Ruth Galloway novels, featuring a forensic archaeologist, are set in Norfolk. The series has won the CWA Dagger in The Library 2016 for an author’s whole body of work and she has been shortlisted three times for the Theakston’s Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year.
Her series of Stephens and Mephisto novels are based in 1950-60s Brighton. She lives near Brighton with her husband, an archaeologist, and their two children.
Arrive after 12 noon for lunch at 1pm; the cost is £35 for a two course lunch with a glass of wine. Please mention any dietary needs when booking.
Guildford is Surrey’s oldest golf club and is located on Merrow Downs at the end of High Path Road. The closing date is 30 September.
