MVWI - February Meeting - ZOOM Option - Spring Crafts

Please RSVP for this event if you would like to attend on Zoom rather than in person.

At our February meeting we are going to be creating hyacinths from paper and card. The first part of the evening we will be demonstrating how to make the flowers. All materials will be provided but you may wish to bring your own scissors.

During the second part of the evening you will get the chance to create your own decorated vase to put your flowers in! For this we would ask you to bring along a tin (the size of a small tin of sweetcorn or standard baked bean tin size would be ideal) or a glass jar (a coffee jar would be perfect!)

We know that our crafty members love a chat about what they have been making / creating and with lockdowns and Covid some of you will have had more time to make beautiful craft items recently. Bring photos to share with your Zoom mates!

We do appreciate that some of you have reasons why meeting face to face is not right for you at the moment, and so with that in mind we will also be sharing the session on zoom so that you can create at home. Please appreciate that that we are still new to the hybrid concept so please bear with us if things aren’t as perfect as we’d wish.

If you join via Zoom, you will need some coloured paper or card (or even an old magazine), green paper for stems and leaves would be useful but a piece of white paper coloured green using any medium you have to hand would work. You will also need some kind of glue – glue stick or pva type glue would be fine or if you have double sided tape of sticky

dots/pads, they will work too. If you do not have access to any form of glue please e-mail us at maplevillagewi@googlemail.com and we can arrange for you to collect a glue stick.

Scissors will also be needed. Something like a knitting needle of kebab stick or even a match, will make rolling the petals easier. For the vase you will need your tin/jar and anything you have at home to decorate it.
